eeeeeeeeey mingle post
[It's snowing.
That's right, it's snowing. The ground is covered in a nice thick layer of snow. More importantly, there's a nice and neat series of tables with scarves, mittens, ear muffs, and sleds leaning against it. (A few of the tables even serve hot chocolate that inexplicably hasn't gone cold, for those who need to warm up.)
It's the perfect weather for snow activities since the snow isn't too heavy... You know, except for the occasional Cryogonal that falls from the sky. There seem to be quite a few of those.
But don't let that stop you from some of the classics- snow angels, sledding, snowball fights... Tis the season and all.]

She's honestly barely taking note of the surrounding Pokémon. If she seems hesitant it's because she is - she's never been one to hide her feelings, even if she'd rather let people not worry about her, but it's just hard to now - and the girl'll continue to sit there. Trying to be her more usual perky self, but...]
What... What makes you say that, Silver? We're just playing. And Sprouty'd whip me out of here if he thought it was trouble.
[He doesn't look half as tired as the other one did, and that sneer is very much familiar. But Lyra's still unusually wary as she remembers his words - unremarkable, weak-minded, predictable.]

These over-sized icicles are obviously trapping you. [To eat, as the more obvious implication. What else would they do to some stupid girl, make friends?] Are you just going to sit there and let them?
[...and if by 'Sprouty' she means that ugly, overgrown flower -- then Silver really needs to step up his training regime. After all, his Quilava should've been evolved by now if hers had.]

Lyra bounces up and the Cryogonal try to close in on her, but she just kind of
limbos between them
leaving them pretty confused.
Hold on, hold on, no they wanna eat her--]
More importantly, you should have gloves on, Silver! Your fingers'll freeze and we won't be able to battle!
[Quit talking, girl, the Cryogonal are trying to unlatch themselves to surround you again. Sprouty doesn't seem bothered either. But he's kind of slow and sleepy because of the cold. Siiip.]
no subject
[Even though he already is, just talking to her. It's because he has nothing better to do, he reasons.]
I'm not cold, so I don't need any gloves. [He pauses to glance at the table, not too far off.....
What awful patterns. Ugh.]
no subject
[And she'll, you know, grab his hand with both of hers.]
Your hands are freezing! I don't care if you like them or not, let's get you a pair of gloves--
no subject
I don't need someone like you [or your stupid friend he ran into earlier] worrying about me!
no subject
The words are familiar from the harsher Silver, but Lyra can't help but grin and take off one of her gloves and try to grab Silver's hand again so she can wriggle it on.]
Call it good competition! It's suck if you lost to me just because you can't open a ball, right? I'm just keeping the playing field level!
[It just also happens to coincide with being friendly towards him. Sprouty yawns and lays his head down, eyelids drooping as the Cryogonal threat starts to loom above him.]
no subject
He's not letting her put the glove on his hand, but it gets on there thanks to her persistence. Euck.]
I wouldn't lose to you anyway! I'm a stronger, better trainer, and the Pokémon I picked matches that!
no subject
Well? Let's see it! I wanna know what fits the strong and reliable Silver!
no subject
uh
Silver stands up (falling back was not part of this plan), and his Aerodactyl reproachfully stands in the snow beside him. Heh.]
no subject
Look at her face, Silver.
Pure unadulterated awe.]
That's awesome! Aren't you just the strongest fossil I've ever seen? [Brb fanning over Aerodactyl.] I think Aerodactyl really does fit you, Silver, it's got just as fearsome a mouth and attitude.
no subject
Don't tell me that flopping fish is the one you got.
no subject
She's full of passion and she's getting pretty strong. But we're taking a break from training to relax in the snow!
no subject
And just when I thought you couldn't get any weaker... You're not even worth my time anymore.
no subject
She is noticeably quiet for longer than she should be, then she slips on the mitten and wiggles her fingers beneath it. Still kind of warm from Silver, heehee.]
You always say that. [Fondly! And kind of quiet, like she's got something on her mind, but she moves on. Like always.] Magikarp are said to the be the weakest Pokémon by pretty much anyone's standards, but they do their best to get strong enough to climb waterfalls and swim against the current. I think it's admirable, don't you? And they even get rewarded for their hard work!

[As if agreeing with the determination, Fishy flops hard against Sprouty and wakes him up enough to get him to notice the Cryogonal and toss some of their hot cocoa at them.
That's right, go away.
Dumb snow. Eck. Brrr.]

Good luck. [He doesn't sound sincere about it at all!!] Don't drown, even though it'll be hard for someone like you not to.
