At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.

Please choose one.

The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.

Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.

Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

[Nope. Silver's spotted him and grabs one of the Pokéballs in front of him in haste before heading after him.

Before he can take off, Silver's gently putting a hand on his shoulder to stop him. Is that really--?]

[So much for a speedy exit. If someone has indeed recognized him, he'll just have to take care of this the old fashioned way. Pokeball in hand, he'll turn around and...]

[And see a slightly different version of his kid trying to gauge whether or not he's just found his dad.

Weavile helps look him over curiously.]

[Slightly different, sure, but a man who hasn't seen his son in a few years wouldn't know.]

[feistytrader]

[...That's definitely a different look in his eyes. And a stiffer tone. He glances at Weavile before returning his gaze to Giovanni.]

Hi. [This is more awkward than he thought...] You want to keep moving, right? [We can walk and talk.]

[hotboss]

[This is a little surprising. What a good son, helping him escape even if he doesn't totally deserve it.]

[He'll start moving, then. If they keep casual, they shouldn't get too much attention. ...He's not doing anything wrong right now, so it's fine for him to head somewhere else. ...Yeah.

[Good question. There are a million things Giovanni could say himself, if he ever finds a place to start.

Once it looks like they're out a good distance, he stops.] Let me get a look at you.

[feistytrader]

[Oh. They're stopping. He stops playing with the Pokéball he picked up and waits for Giovanni to look him over.]

[hotboss]

So I've heard. How old are you?

[feistytrader]

[...Uh.] Sixteen? Seventeen? [Nineteen? Twenty?]

[hotboss]

[Oh. Confusion aside, both answers aren't what he's looking for.] I see.

[feistytrader]

[...Just keep a straight face. It doesn't matter that much, does it? He'll see his dad again eventually.]

[feistytrader]

[That keeps him quiet and thoughtful for a moment. He doesn't know how to argue it. Does he question it? Does he thank him?

[Well he's - sorta in the process of that. He gave it up but he'd love to go back but he probably shouldn't but he really would like to and - you know how it goes.]

...If you let me search long enough, I might be able to find some shack or something. [Shacks are probably nicer than caves for him, right?...]

[hotboss]

[feistytrader]
