NEW YEAR'S FESTIVAL

If you thought you've memorized every bit of the island so far, think again! Seemingly overnight, a huge festival has appeared in the plains, complete with vendors, games, contests, and of course, huge rides to scream your lungs out. Grab your friends and have a fun start to the new year!

•Bobbing for apricorns and games - Try your luck at snatching a fresh apricorn and win a pokeball version for your efforts! The water's pretty icy at this time, so you might want to find a way to warm your face afterwards. There's also ring toss, Squirtle gun range, and a strange fishing game where you only ever seem to fish out Magikarp for 500 poke a try. Win big to earn plushies and masks of your favorite Pokemon!

•Haunted house - It's a place brimming with Gastlys and Gengars eager to pop out of the walls and scare the living daylights out of you. Enter if you dare!

•Ferris wheel - Take a break in the Ferris wheel and get a full view of the carnival. Also a fine place to pick up bizarre dates if you're desperate to kiss someone at midnight.

•Food and fortune - Cotton candy, popcorn, caramel-covered berries, and everything else to get your weekly intake of salt and sugar. Stop by the vendors for a range of carnival cuisine from all the regions, then check out the Alakazam fortune teller on the way out to get your new year's fortune. Too bad his fortunes seem to read like bad fortune cookies.

•Tunnel of Luvdisc - Need a private moment? Hop into a boat and cruise along the Tunnel of Luvdisc with your darling, together with the lights down low...and a river packed with energetic Luvdisc who seem eager to splash water and sometimes flip onto the boat. Just shove them back if one lands in your lap.

•Gyarados roller coaster - It's the highlight of the festival! This towering coaster has all the terrifying drops and turns you want in a roller coaster, but with a tacky-looking Gyarados car as the ride. Don't let that fool you into thinking it's a ride for the younger kids, though.

[Aw lame, potential plot of getting Red sick on the coaster is ruined. Oh well, hopefully he'll just scream like a sissy. But probably not.]

[Sorry, no fond memories of this carnifestival for Green. Red observes the roller coaster's track once they join in with the queue, seeing it plenty of times during his wander around but this being finally the time he'd be going on it. How exciting. How new.

Thankfully they were able to slip in while the line wasn't too bad, and hopefully they won't have to wait for long. But while they're standing there...!]

What are you going to do afterwards?

[Green waves his hand to the attendant to ask for front row seats when they get to the entrance. A champ like him deserves the best seats in the house!]

Probably take Eevee for a run and grab dinner somewhere. Why? [Red is not invited to this let's be clear right now.]

[Is there a difference from front to middle to end?? Not that Red would have a clue! He shakes his head.]

Curious. I was thinking of leaving too.

[Wow Red that is kind of a creepy way to put it.]

And that's curious because...? [Oh nevermind it's their turn to get into the coaster car. Front row!]

No, I was just curious.

[Don't turn it creepy! And wow, front row! And there's the bar that comes down on front of you. Wait, thinking about this...]

Is my hat gonna be okay?

[Uhhhh too late to worry now bro.]

Can't hear you! [Yeah he can totally hear you, just being his usual friendly self. The car is pretty noisy as it climbs up the very...very...steep slope. Wow, this is a lot higher than it looked from the ground. Perfect!]

[Green never hearing him is always suspicious! But it is too late, a hat might be sacrificed. The slow build-up of the ride rising is a distraction away from any thoughts of poor hats (or a very firm "good bye" to them).

Keep down your popcorn, Green.]

[That's okay, they're going back upno they're going down no back up THIS RIDE CAN'T MAKE UP IT'S MIND AND NOW IT'S GOING UP AND UPSIDE DOWN

HAT STATUS: STILL SOMEHOW ON HEAD (FOR NOW)

VOLUME LEVELS: SCREAMING FROM EVERYONE EVERYWHERE

Even Red cannot resist joining in on this MAXIMUM LEVELS OF FUN.]

[This ride is considerably less fun when Red is not losing his hat or sobbing like a scared child but enjoyable enough for Green not to mind that right now. The people screeching behind them is gonna make his ears ring for days.]

[Did you really expect Red to start crying. The ride is in no way displeasing though, and Red's into it all the way until the end. When they get off, his legs feel like jelly and the rest of him feels off too from sitting in place, though he's laughing at the sensation more than being shaken up over it.

There's a mix of people as they all begin to move away from the ride. Red turns to Green, putting a hand on his now bare head.]

Lost it.

[Completely fine with that.]

One sec... [Urp! Maybe he should've waited on the popcorn after all. His stomach is definitely feeling a little juggled.

Anyway, more importantly, the hat.] Thing was probably gross by now. [Real talk Red when was the last time the hat got washed.]

[Calling his hat gross, look who's talking.]

Yeah, sure. [He's not really agreeing.] Do you need to sit down?

I'll be fine. You don't want to find your crummy hat?

Yeah, I was going to do that. [Following the roller coaster line, it might not be impossible....

He takes a few steps towards a direction.] I'll see you later.

What? [Just because he doesn't like you doesn't mean you're allowed to just leave like that!!] Hey, you're not supposed to wander around the ride like that!

Huh? [It's okay not-friend, he's not going to get on the tracks themselves. That would be stupid. He's going to follow the path of the roller coaster below! But Green's shouting has him stopped.]

[Well, Red does have a habit of wandering into places he shouldn't be in. Evil organization headquarters, off-limits mountain ranges, etc.] You know what, nevermind. Good luck finding the thing.

[Green is just as bad, okay.]

Mm, thanks. [He's sure Green was being flippant, but Red nods to him anyway. The other boy can be free to get any food that he wants- Red will just release out from a pokéball his sorta kinda sugared up Pikachu to help with the task of hat finding! The pokémon can probably do by now with a run.]
