[An island! This is most certainly not where everyone was just a few moments ago. ...Alright, maybe some of you were on an island. Don't get cheeky.

At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.

Please choose one.

The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.

Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.

Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

[Aw, hey, nice to see a friend yeah. She sits up and so does Buckbi. Practically at the same time. The Chespin waves laxly at Jun and the neighboring Torterra.]

Buckbi. I don't know what he is, but he's friendly and has a pretty hard shell. [Knock knock. See? And a following shrug.] Wigbi liked him out of all of them, so. Did you make any new friends?

Yeah, it's...wait...

[Looking around a little, and then up at the tree on Torterra's back. Did we let it out and it was hiding in the tree, or did we misplace it's poke'ball. He had kind of taken it and run off in such a hurry that he forgot what he did with it.

His Torterra is just kind of trying not to roll its eyes at this while Jun looks in his bag next.]

[Dawn'll just scoot back to sit against Wigbi's tree, and Buckbi leaps over to help Jun out. Where oh where could it beee. And she'll even roll her eyes for Torterra.]

You just grabbed it and went, didn't you? You should've at least put it someplace you'd remember.

Yeah, I was uh, kind of in a hurry...

[Takes a poke'ball and peers at--nope, that's Mime Jr.'s poke'ball, he sets that one aside so he can find the correct poke'ball needed.]

When aren't you in a hurry? [Seriously.] Well, why were you in one this time?

I was trying to see if I could find a sign or something that could tell me where I was. [Just to confirm whether the sneaking familiar feeling he had was unfounded, but nope, turn out this is exactly where he thought it was. Hello island, we didn't miss you that much...

...Also this still isn't the poke'ball we were looking for, why is our bag a cluttered mess right now.]

Well? Did you find anything? I know this isn't that lab we were at before, because you can so tell the differ... Are you still looking for that ball? Your bag's a mess, Jun. Just dump it out and let's sort it.

[She's gonna get up and leap over too. Scoot over boy. Buckbi, back to Wigbi, go nap. Dawn'll wake you when it's all good.]

Yeah, alright. [He scoots over a little so that there's room for her too as he dumps out some stuff in his bag. A spare outfit, pokemon-related items like potions and such, Town Map, some papers (they seem to be old notes regarding stuff Rowan made him look up in the library ages ago), some poke'balls...] I didn't really find anything that explains how we got from that lab to here...oh, that reminds me, do you still have any of the Pokemon you caught there?

[He has no idea if any of those Pokemon ended up traveling with them here, or if they somehow got left behind at the other place. (Maybe if your bag wasn't so cluttered you would have figured that out already Jun...)]

[Messy, messy, messy. Dawn makes her disapproval known with a Look, but starts to help sorting it out as she replies.]

Like Fuzzbi? Yeah, actually, I do. She's really tired though. Buckbi hasn't even met her yet. What about you?

[It's weird, but she at least got to keep her buddy. Not sure about others but hey! It's good.]

Oh, that's great! I--hang on. [Peering at a poke'ball for a second.] I think this is Emolga's poke'ball, so I guess it made it here too!

[That was the only Pokemon he had caught at that place when the two of them had been there. He may not have been thoroughly acquainted with it yet unlike his other Pokemon, but Jun is a little glad that it wasn't left behind at that testing facility either.

...But uh, still gotta find where we put the one we just got recently...]

[Hi, Emolga's ball. She's very obviously happy that it made it here too!

Less happy about the continuing affair of Jun's mess, but you know.]

At least Fuzzbi won't be alone, then. She'll be happy to hear that. How much stuff do you stick in your bag? Haven't you ever heard of cleaning it out?

Of course I have! I just...haven't gotten around to doing so until now!

Excuses, excuses! Ugh, I'm gonna check your bag once a week to make sure it stays organized... And if it's not, I guess I'll make you do something for me.

[Sorry Jun, she's a very organized girl and this bothers her. She's totally serious!!]

Huh, seriously? [Normally he is organized! He's just been...distracted, what with these testing facilities and then suddenly being back here on this island. But after a second of being surprised, he pulls up one of his charming smiles that he normally uses for flirting with Mitsumi.]

Well, I'd be happy to do anything for you Dawn, but you don't have to go out of your way to check my bag for me... [We wouldn't want to be a bother to you...]

[See that? That's a little blush. Shut up. She's gonna hit him. She really will. Smack!!]

It's just to make sure that this doesn't happen again. [The mess. Gesturing with her hand.]

[hehehe, sorry dawn. he runs a hand through his hair a little sheepishly.]

I promise my bag isn't usually like this, I just haven't had time to organize my stuff until now. [But he's still smiling anyway.] But thanks for your concern, Dawn. I'll try not to let it get this bad again.

[She's still embarrassed.

Good. If I find it's like this again, I'll give you worse than a punch. [Nevermind that it was for the flirty grin.] What are all those papers for, by the way?

...Oh, I forgot about those--the Professor used to make me look stuff up for him in the library when he couldn't get someone else to do it. [He picks up one of the papers, squinting at it for a second.]

This one has some stuff about Giratina on it...geez, it feels like writing this down happened ages ago. [Well, for him it did because of timey-wimey shenanigans, what with suddenly being dragged to a testing facility and then an island again. Still, it's funny thinking that the stuff with Giratina was a recent occurrence before he ended up here.]

[Possibly fortunately, she's not all that familiar with Giratina. More with Palkia. And by extension Dialga. But not Giratina, so she takes some of the papers to look at too. These didn't have anything on it but they were kind of interesting...]

What's Giratina?

It's a legendary Pokemon that lives in an alternate dimension--err, well, it lives in this place called the "Distortion World" or something, and it has the ability to travel between there and our world. The Distortion World it lives in doesn't seem to be fond of physics though, since you can walk on walls and stuff while you're there. [It was both cool and creepy there, and he's not entirely sure if he ever actually wants to see that place again.

Let's see, what else did we have written down here--] Giratina is a ghost and dragon-type Pokemon, and some legends even mention it with Dialga and Palkia as being part of a trio that helped create Sinnoh and the world and stuff. But then it supposedly got banished to the Distortion World for being too violent in comparison to the other two.

[Wow, that's a lot. Dragon and ghost, huh. That's cool. Maybe it looked like a skeleton of a dragon that flew between worlds. Or not, seeing that Palkia didn't really look like a water dragon. She'll tease him a little.]

You actually sound pretty smart, Jun. I guess it makes sense why I'd never heard of it before then if it was banished and all. The Distortion World sounds messed up. You sound like you've been there, too. So what happened?

[Now it's Jun's turn to be a little embarrassed--Dawn called us smart aaahhh]

Yeah, I've been there before. It's really weird--at one point, we had to jump over onto some rocks that were floating sideways when running through that place. [Running along the wall, even upside down at one point. Anyway, let's see...] Basically, after Team Galactic's plan to capture Dialga and Palkia didn't work, this guy named Charon didn't know when to quit I guess and decided to take over as the new leader of Team Galactic, this time trying to capture Giratina instead. My friends and I had to go after them into the Distortion World so that we could stop them from catching Giratina.

[That sounds kind of wicked. The Distortion World physics. Lack of physics. Reminds her a little of that low gravity room back at the testing place. That was fun.]

That's amazing. So you're really a hero, huh? It makes what I did sound pretty trivial in comparison. Just Palkia by itself. [But she is not bothered by that in the least. It was mostly the Lake Guardian's doing, after all. They stopped Palkia from messing up Sinnoh too badly.]

[Hero oh wow do you see that, his ears are burning red now. On one hand he is so tempted to brag, but on the other hand, if he was honest with himself, Hareta is probably the real hero and Jun's...side-kick material. Or comic relief.

...but uh what was that about Palkia there--]

Huh, what happened with Palkia? Did you get to battle it?

[Dawn nods, setting the papers aside and sighing.]

Team Galactic wanted to use Palkia, so they tried capturing it and the Lake Guardians stopped Palkia from warping space and all... I battled it and calmed it down. I didn't think it'd be right to upset the balance more than it had been by capturing it. Just a small incident compared to what happened with you.

[Not that big a deal. She makes it sound like it was nothing, to her it was just a case of "at the right place at the right time" kind of thing, that sort of deal.]
