New Year Magic Yields Old Pokemon! (Mingle Post!)

[Naturally Paul doesn't give a shit about holidays; they're all the same as regular days to him. That means, TRAIN POKEMON WITHOUT RELENT. However, this late at night, something weird happens, as his Ferroseed is suddenly found at the top of a tree, glowing with a special kind of inexplicable deus ex machina light. It defies gravity as it slowly spins down to the ground, landing approximately at midnight, heralding the new year.

And Paul can only stare in disbelief as, with Ferroseed's landing, a number of other Pokemon suddenly appear before him. A strange, purple-colored Nidoqueen (unusual even by shiny standards), a Mienfoo, a Kingdra, a Noctowl, and a Skarmory.]

What the--?! What's the meaning of this?!

[It's New Year magic of the island, bringing back to Paul the old Pokemon he had gained from the previous iteration of the island years ago!

If you happen to be around, trainers, you too may experience the magic of being reunited with your old friends from the old Pokedressing! Whether or not you remember your old friends is up to you!]

They seem to know you. [She stares at the Noctowl and frowns. It's shiny?]

[OH SHIT that Skarmory still wants to kill Paul, it's divebombing him already and he needs to DOOOOODGE]

--Why?! I don't remember any of these!

[And while she asks, there's a Braviary who has decided to make himself her friend.

She scowls in confusion.]

... I've never caught one of these. [She tries to wave the bird away, but it's sticking to her.]

[Matching scowls as he notices the young Mienfoo all too eager to battle this oh-so deadly Skarmory. He'll point at her.]

I've never even seen one of those before! This is ridiculous!

It's a Meinfoo, a fighting type from Unova.

... Any idea why that Skarmory's trying to kill you?

If I did, I'd be doing more than just dodge this crazy thing!

[As he rolls out of the way once more! Motherfucker, that Skarmory is pissed!]

[The Braviary who has attached himself to Leaf screeches and positions himself between the Skarmory and Paul]

Not willing to fight it?

It's obviously not leaving me with a choice, is it?! You're taking this awfully calmly, aren't you?!

Calm is better than panic. It helps that it's not attacking me.

Braviary, what are you doing? [It completely ignores her. She just shrugs.] At least he doesn't want you dead.

That's another one I haven't seen before. Guess it's safe to assume these two know each other.

[The Skarmory seems to not care about Braviary interfering in its warpath and gears up for an explosive Brave Bird to bowl it over!]

[Braivary seems prepared to steel himself for impact.

But then he uses Rock Slide.]

It's certainly a possibility.

[Skarmory is too far into it BLOODLUST to care that it's being counterattacked. It doesn't even try to dodge the rocks, instead taking hits seems to make it even crazier while it violently throws a bunch of Night Slash attacks at Braviary.]

... I don't like any of this. These... strangers lingering around, as if they know me...

[lookin' particularly annoyed at that shiny Noctowl that suddenly perched itself on his shoulder...]

[A very enthusiastic Arcanine has found Silver and promptly decided that he's not allowed to walk anymore, so he and Froakie are free to...

...Watch whatever this mess with Paul is from a comfortable and warm seat. That's a lot of Pokémon. Is that Noctowl shiny? What's up with that Nidoqueen--?]

[Not just shiny, that Noctowl is much smaller than the usual kind! Ash caught himself a real freak of nature there. Paul's not at all happy to see Noctowl fly over to use his shoulder as a perch while Mienfoo jumps into his arms and the other newbies come over to crowd the young man. He's about to yell at them to GTFO, but the shriek of Skarmory, the exception to the newcomers, startles him. He's coming towards Paul alright, but instead zooming straight over with a look of KILLING INTENT. Torterra's already lumbering over to be Paul's trusty shield, but Electivire is quick to pick up his teammate's slack by sliding in to fend Skarmory off with a well-timed Thunder Punch... for the time being.

It's at this point that Arcanine will start barking at Silver; he remembers Paul, and his dumb loyal love for his former trainer is still present! Paul's far too distracted at the moment to think of calling for help, and even if he wasn't, he's too much of a prideful douche to resort himself to that. So Arcanine's gonna bite Silver's sleeve and drag him urgently, whatcha gonna doooo?]

Hey buddy! I haven't seen you in a while.

[He'll notice the MUCH OLDER Ash nearby, as Noctowl turns its attention towards its former trainer. Mass confusion!]
