Sitting (or sprawled) out on the grass is a group of younger protagonists and humanoid Pokemon, all armed with notepads, pens, and the like. It looks like they might just be... studying...? And getting into it, at that! So much so that they probably won't pay attention, even if you approach.

However, the redheaded adult supervising all this will. He's sitting on a low wall over here, but he'll glance over if you pass by and be glad to respond if you speak up. Feel free to come over and ask what this is all about, just say hello to the guy while his... students? are busy, or even see if you can join in if you're bored. There's plenty of paper to doodle on, whether you've got fingers or paws, and plenty of comfy ground to lounge on.]

[Well hey there. Honestly, Kouji isn't surprised you've got a study session going. You did that all the time back home, so why not here, too? He'll come up from one side to avoid weaving through the kidlings.]

Hey, teach. Got a class set up already, huh?

[Shuuya glances over to the side, but he doesn't bother turning around. It's just Kouji, after all.]

[Said in a tone of really, dude? And not responding to that question.]

[Hey, he was just poking at you a little. He'll let out a light laugh and lean on the wall. He isn't in anything of old-fashioned Johto style today - except the geta.]

How'd you manage to get them so excited about it?

[Shuuya leans back so he can look at the sky, and more importantly, not at Kouji. His expression is as bland as usual, not that the other guy can see it too well like this.]

By making it fun instead of work. Are you just here to disrupt class, or do I need to get you some pretty pencils, too?

I don't know, they don't seem to be too distracted by my presence. Maybe I could help some of them with math.

... Pretty pencils are never unwelcome, though. [He does have terrible luck when it comes to holding onto writing implements. Any pen or pencil is likely to get left somewhere, or loaned and forgotten about.]

...and, well. If you say that, then Shuuya is just going to reach down to the pile of supplies he has lying in a sack on the ground and fish out a pink notepad. And half a box of colored pencils, with only pastels left.

And hand them out to Kouji with a straight face.

Fortunately, Shuuya doesn't care whether they come back or not, since everything's free here.]

[He'll take the notepad - he goes through them like the wind, even when he's not working on business things. He'll take some pencils, too, but then just stare at them appraisingly, one eyebrow raised. Huh... He hadn't expected colored - certainly colorful, and maybe glittery, but he'd thought graphite. Ah well, he's certain he can find a use for them, so he shrugs and into his pockets they go!]

Well what else is new? [You and he have both known for a long time that he's pretty much Joe. Which Joe? Average Joe. He's generally only good at one thing in a division and not so hot at the rest of it, or just so-so at everything.

Oh well, you can't have it all. But at least he isn't actually very bad at anything, either.]

But, Shuuya wasn't really doing anything entertaining himself, so. He doesn't have anything else to say, so he'll just sit here and watch Kouji draw for a while.

If he was this quiet all the time, he'd be 50% less annoying.]

[ Sitting on a bench a few feet away, an orange-clad young womagirl is stalkingwatching her unsuspecting(?) prey, waiting for the right opportunity to attack. It's crucial that the subject remains unaware of her present until the moment comes, or else the surprise would be ruined.

And she can't let that happen. ]

[By getting a "few feet" away while Shuuya's actually paying attention to the perimeter (in case one of the brats scampers off), you've already failed the surprise part. Sorry, Mikan.

He might just get up and move over to join her on the bench she's on, though, since there's... not much difference in the distance.

Because he figures it'd bother her and he might be kind of bored right now oops]

Thanks. We're always trying to help. [Generic response is generic. And Shuuya didn't really go to school, either. Private lessons and all that. But he's still a surprisingly decent teacher.] Letters, numbers, basic Trainer skills. That kind of thing.

[...most of these kids are already have their own Pokemon, though, so it's more of the former.]
