At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.

Please choose one.

The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.

Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.

Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

[The beach doesn't scare him because it's ground and only next to water. So it's okay! He's going to walk over and kick sand hard into Archie's back.]

No, for your information, I was gonna start training the newest member of my team.

[The Froakie isn't too pleased to hear that. Aww man. :< ]

But if you're not gonna leave me alone, why don't you be my practice dummy? Sharpedo, Waterfall!

[Sharpedo doesn't seem to have any sort of complaints about attacking another person and unleashes the water attack with gusto. You might want to dodge that.]

[AND YOU'RE FOUR.

He dodges the waterfall, crashing to the ground because of it, and throws out Crobat.]

Confuse Ray!

[Fennekin comes over to him to watch the battle better because hell yeah fighting.]

Dammit--

[The curse gets cut off as Sharpedo hits himself and Archie throws out a second Pokémon. This one probably doesn't look familiar: it's a Tentacruel.]

Ice Beam!

[The Pokémon does as ordered, aiming the attack at the bat.]

[Crobat gets knocked down and quickly returned, letting Maxie climb to his feet to call out Mightyena. Camerupt would be up crap creek.]

Roar, Mightyena!

[Letting out the loudest roar it has in it's inventory.]

[torrential]

[Well that effectively sends Tentacruel back into the Pokéball and calls out another new Pokémon, Gyarados.]

Dragon Dance!

[The Gyarados does as commanded, raising its stats before Archie calls out,]

Ice Fang!

[The sea serpent then surges forward, aiming the attack at Mightyena.]

[It hits the Mightyena hard but still keeps it's balance in it.]

Swagger!

[It does it's move, confusing and raising the attack of Gyarados.]

Take down!

[It charges at Gyarados, jumping to knock it in the head.]

[The Gyarados roars in pain as it takes the hit and lashes out, only to hurt itself in confusion. Archie cusses under his breath and returns Gyarados before he can knock himself out, instead swapping to Poliwrath.]

Let's go, Poliwrath! Brick Break!

[The Pokémon follows its orders, trying to land the attack on the Mightyena.]

[Which it does, unfortunately. Taking it completely out. This, unfortunately leaves him with one choice. Camerupt. He throws it out.]

Amnesia!

[Getting it's Special Defense up.]

Rock Slide!

[Anything to at least stay in the game, but he knows he's at a disadvantage with having only half of Archie's Pokemon. Still. Worth a shot.]

[The Rock Slide attack hurts, but Poliwrath withstands it. That's good, seeing as how Poliwrath usually goes down in one hit. Archie grins.]

Finish it! Waterfall!

[That waterfall not only hit Camerupt but also got him all soaking wet are you proud of yourself Archie? Yes. He grunted and withdrew Camerupt.]

Where did you get all those extra Pokemon anyways?!

[Of course he's proud of himself! Just look at how hard he's grinning!]

I took some time off to train. Something you might wanna think about doing in the future if you ever hope to beat me. Not that it'll help, of course.

[too bad your face is so fat or he'd punch it.]
