At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.

Please choose one.

The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.

Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.

Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

[ Shakes her head at the first question. She is rarely one to name her pokémon, it's just too bothersome. But this cute little thing needs a name, mainly because Blue herself doesn't know its name. Haha.

Anyway.. ]


Blue.

[ And assumes that this guy will also introduces himself. Yep. ]

[No nicknames? Not that there's anything wrong with not nicknaming a Pokémon. ...never mind that Blue here gave cutesy nicknames to his own.]

Isn't that a bother, not knowing what to referring to your own pokémon in the meantime...?

[There's a nod of confirmation at her name. Okay, so it's Bl...ue...? He's not sure what to think of that name.]

... ...I'm called Blue, too. What a coincidence, huh?

[ What she should call this pokémon, that is. But her interest is quickly diverted when Blue mentions that his name is the same as her. She makes a fist to the hand "ooh!" gesture. ]

Green. [ When Jigglypuff nudges her leg to tell that she is being unclear, Blue takes a moment to think and then continues- ] My friend looks like you. His name is Green. ... But shorter. [ She just feels the need to add that, ok. ]

[Outside of it's cute, pink and fluffy???

Although he's all ears when she's suddenly referring to another color. Green? Green what- oh. Her...friend, huh? It makes Blue briefly wonder if that's what his own clone is referred to.

There's an amused chuckle again.]

I could say the same for Leaf. She's a little taller than you are.

[ Visibly looks annoyed by that comment, and decides this topic should end by saying one word!!: ] Weird.

[ And quickly holds the Spritzee at arms length again. ] So?

[He still has a hint of amusement within him, but drops the topic. At Spritzee being help up again, Blue's back to examining it.]

How about Flu-

[There's a pause as he considers his options. He can't just go blurting the first name off top of his head-]

...Fluffy?

[Welp.]

[ Oh, Blue. She notices that pause and gives a small smile, but decides not to comment. This Green look-alike is really different from the one she knows.

At the suggestion, she hugs Spritzee again even tighter (and it releases even more perfume) and drowns her face in its feathers. ]

Fluffy's good.

[ MMMF, well if she's really fine with that nickname...]

Fluffy it is. Where'd you find her? From one of those Pokéballs?

[He's gesturing to the ones he's yet to touch. He's not trusting enough to take one for himself. WHAT IF THEY'RE BUGGED... or... or...! OR NOT REAL. He is the most suspicious.]

[ Nods. She gives three fingers to show that she also got three. ]

I picked her out of three.

[ After all, if you had the choice between a Spritzee, Honedge and a Scatterbug, you obviously pick the cutest of them all. ]

[He's honestly curious. That and he's yet to take a look at the three choices this strange island has presented him with.]

[ Nods again. She was pretty disappointed when the other two simply disappear. But whatever, she has a cute scented fluffy bird...thing.

Well now, her attention is caught by Blue's pokéballs. What do you have here hmm. ]

[Time for him to take a look! He has the lovely choices of:

An Unown, a GOLDEN Magikarp, and... a trashbag? Blue looks baffled as he picks it up, not realizing the other two options disappearing.]

Why is there... a trashbag inside of this Pokéball?

[WHAT KIND OF TERRIBLE JOKE IS THIS]

[ Pfffffft. ]

[G R E A T. There goes his other two options. Well, time to at least throw the trash out and into a proper trashbin. Or that's what he would've done if the "trashbag" didn't turn out to be a Trubbish.

...! I...should've known it was a pokémon inside...

[But what IS it? Time to Blue to stare down at the poor Trubbish that immediately hides his face behind his hands.]

[ Oh? Blue takes a peek at the "trash" and moves closer to get a better look. It's moving! Is there a pokémon inside? ]

[The Trubbish is now peeping up, only to realize he's getting double the attention now. Not used to it, it lets out a squeak before opting to hid behind it's new trainer's legs.]

... ... [Time to take pity, and lift Trubbish up. Was it's face(???) red?]

I think he's shy.

[ Well then. Blue takes a step back and crouches down in an attempt to make the new guy more comfortable. There, is it better? Hello!

Jigglypuff also joins Blue in the "make new friend" attempt, while Fluffy the Spritzee keeps on sleeping, still oozing powerful perfume.




..Don't you wonder how absurd it must smell where perfume meets trash. ]

[Ah yes, the wonderful combination of trash and perfume creates a delightfully awful fragrance-

It really does, but Blue is trying his best not to comment. Who knows how his new pokémon would react to that? He didn't want to upset it. At least Trubbish seemed to slowly open up by removing its arms away from its face.]

...you're the second pokémon today, that I have no clue what to call.

[He's facing Blue now.]

[ As she was asked, Blue looks up to ..other Blue and frowns. That's a mistake there, other Blue! She is not the correct person to ask about names, but she is also extremely stubborn and doesn't know when to give up. So you're gonna have to deal with a girl thinking her hardest what to name your newly discovered pokémon.

Blue crosses her arms and does a thinking pose, which Jigglypuff mimics just for the sake of being cute. ]

[He blinks, while watching both trainer and pokémon cross their arms. He can't help but smile at the display.]

Any name you think of is fine.

[Blue will state while lightly patting Trubbish a top his head.]

I think he'd be happy having a name.

[Unless it's something mean like "Trashbag".]

Meanwhile, the answer to this Extremely Difficult Situation!! finally dawns on Blue. ]

[ She looks REALLY PROUD of herself. The choice is yours, otherBlue!! ]

THE BEST NICKNAME EVER. Even better since a not!rival picked it for him.]

Alright, from now on he'll be called Tubby.

[Have more pats Trubbish. Trubbish looks a little confused, but he seems more settled now that he's comfortable in big Blue's arms.]

[ BEST DAY EVER with a nicer!older!notrival. She's gonna start a career as a professional nicknamer ok.

Blue extends her arm to Tubby while the other is still holding the sleeping Fluffy. The little birdie moves a little to make herself comfortable, then continues sleeping.. Jigglypuff also hops onto Blue's head to make herself comfortable.

Anyway, Blue shows clear interest to try to pet Tubby and stares quietly at otherBlue for permission. Can I? Please? ]

[Go forth and give great nicknames to all pokémon ever. He'll support your decisions in life.

He'll notice her body language, followed by that stare. Pulling his own hand away from Tubby's head, he'll hold him out for Blue to pet. Tubby's staring a bit wide-eyed but so far, no complaints from him.]
