Welcome/Welcome back, you crazy diamonds!

[An island! This is most certainly not where everyone was just a few moments ago. ...Alright, maybe some of you were on an island. Don't get cheeky.

At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.

Please choose one.

The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.

Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.

Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

[Well this is odd. One minute she was at the Battle Pike preparing to face a trainer (finally) and the next she was here...wherever here was. Not that she was worried. Seviper was with her as always, and the rest of her team was here as well. No, what she was worried about was deciding to pick just one.

( )

It didn't help that she'd never actually seen any of these Pokémon before.]

......

[Urk...this might take a while. At least her Seviper is patient...]

[A kid carrying a cousin of that gooey 'mon on the right pauses to stare admiringly at her snake. That's a really cool Seviper...!

...oh, is that lady having trouble picking one? He hesitates, before speaking up.]

...The one with the green cheeks is actually a dragon type. I think.

[Does that help at all??]

[Kinda sorta yes no maybe?

At first, Lucy doesn't turn away from Pokéballs or respond. It's as if she didn't hear him at all. Her silence lasts for a few seconds before she eventually turns to face him.]

And what of the others...?

The blue one is real cute!

[ A nearby girl helpfully pointed this out to the Pike Queen. Where did she come from? Who cares?? ]

[ On the flip side, if Rosa's Scolipede has an opinion on the selection, he isn't telling. No, he's a little busy staring down the other Poison-type. ]

[...okay that was odd, to say the least. It's not every day a protag young lady shows up from out of nowhere. Yet Lucy keeps her calm demeanor, giving the girl a curious look before noticing the...giant whatever it was staring down her Seviper. Likewise, the giant snake was staring it down as well.]

Your Pokémon...I've never seen it before...

[Hi I am from gen 3 and what is this.]

[ Staredown intensifies. Oblivious to that little situation, Rosa gives him a fond pat on the side. ]

Oh, Aristotle? He's a Scolipede. You haven't been to Unova, lady?

[ The trainer looks thoughtful for a moment. Hi gen 3, I'm gen 5. ]

Though. Guess I'm one to talk, huh? I don't recognize any of these three.
