Welcome/Welcome back, you crazy diamonds!
[An island! This is most certainly not where everyone was just a few moments ago. ...Alright, maybe some of you were on an island. Don't get cheeky.
At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.
Please choose one.
The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.
Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.
Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

[It's easy enough to see he's not one of the really bad ones, at least. Or if he is, he's a lot better at hiding it than most of them. So she smiles and brushes her hair back.]
Call me Terra.

[He laughs it off though, clearly not offended.]
Nice to meet you, Terra.

[She grimaces a little; she didn't have the same luck with Maxie. Still, she turns it into a smile again fairly quickly - not only is this one not crazy, he honestly seems fairly nice.]
I wouldn't have expected you to be that sort, anyway. They seem to be rather... obvious, most of the time.

[Though unlike Terra, he's practically bffs with the crazy Maxie. Not that he'd ever admit it because that's admitting to liking a Maxie and that's clearly not possible.]

At any rate, you're taking this well. I assume this isn't your first time on the Island?

[He looks a little lost for a moment before shrugging it off. Gaping holes in his memory really aren't anything to worry about anymore!]

[Terra doesn't worry much about long gaps, either. Though she just tends to assume she hibernated through them.
She leans down to examine the Froakie a little more closely.]
It does look a bit strange. Perhaps it's related to a Mudkip? It's obviously some sort of amphibian.

Yeah, could be. It definitely looks like a Water-type, but I don't know what exactly it is or where it's from. It'll be interesting to see what it evolves into, if it does evolve!

[The Sandile following Terra wanders up next to her to size the Froakie up for itself - from a safe distance. After a moment it chirps* the Sandile equivalent of "you've got potential, kid", which makes Terra raise an eyebrow.]
((OOC: *Yes, crocodiles do chirp in real life, at least young ones do. Crocodiles are noisy suckers.))

[Archie glances down at the Pokémon, trying to keep from smiling at them. They're kind of cute, alright.
Froakie certainly seems pleased with Sandile's words, puffing up his little chest and managing to swagger-hop around.]

[Sandile's just sensing the potential for a Dark-type there, really. It just smirks as well as you can smirk with a mouth that takes up two-thirds of your face, swishing its tail across the ground.]
