At everyone's feet is a small note. It gives no description of their location or explanation, of course; it only says one simple thing.

Please choose one.

The note comes along with three Pokéballs with different "starter" Pokémon in them- the three Pokémon can be anything, from a Froakie, Charmander, and Treecko to a Rattata, Patrat, and Bidoof if you're particularly unlucky- and everything in between. If it's not a legendary Pokémon, it's fair game.

Of course, you can only pick one! Trying to go for a second will leave you thinking that you better not get too greedy. If you're one of those types that wouldn't care either way, the other two Pokéballs will simply disappear.

Now go forth, and into a world of Pokémon!]

Oh. [Did she release those Pokemon somewhere or were they being kept at home? Hm.

...Also he's beginning to realize that they've been talking for a little while and he still doesn't know who she is.] What's your name?

[Lyra hardly notices these things anymore since she's a very "talk first, names later" kind of girl. But when asked, she's all too happy to give it!]

Lyra! And this is Sprouty, my partner! You're totally different than someone else I know [but look like she's been through this song and dance she's got this] so what's yours?

I'm Red. [Most people know him by his title "Pokemon Trainer" since he's one of the only Pokemon Trainers on the circuit, but he doesn't mind giving his name to another Trainer.] It's nice to meet you, Lyra.

[Yup.

You too! By the way, if you can't find anyone to take these from you, which would you choose?

[Because she's still biased towards Jigglypuff. But Lucario looks so cool, and Pikachu is a powerhouse...]

Huh? [Um...good question. Red looks between the three Pokemon for a moment before he speaks.]

Lucario has good power and speed, as well as the use of those Aura attacks in battle, but it's tricky to land KOs with. Jigglypuff is weaker in terms of strength and defense, but it has good maneuverability, especially when it comes to dodging some attacks or mid-air brawling. And Pikachu has even greater speed than Lucario and a better defense than Jigglypuff, but some of it's attacks can have poor range if it's not paying enough attention to it's aim...

[...That's probably the most that Red has actually spoken all at once so far given his usual short responses, but these are the sort of things he notices from his battles with these guys. After a moment of thought, he speaks again.] ...I guess I might pick Pikachu, though Lucario and Jigglypuff could be good partners to have too if given enough attention and training as well.
