[April 1.

April Fool's Day.

The Island has heard of this day, heard it from people past and present and hopefully in the future. You would think that, with the Island being the Island being a complete and utter whacko who springs all kinds of crazed and insane and out of the ordinary situations on the people and Pokemon that live on it, a day such as April Fool's Day would go down exceptionally well with a landmass that acts the fool. If you were thinking that, you thought wrong. The Island loves CHRISTMAS. The Island loves VALENTINE'S DAY.

Right now, at this present moment in time, maybe the Island could come to love April Fool's Day as well.

Eri has gone. Released his ownership. That is something known for certain; there was that conversation with Touko, that conversation with Soul, the ritual performed. Tina hasn't come back to reclaim what was once hers, either. The Island... is free. Free from being belonged by a Giratina. Free to do whatever it pleases, only increased tenfold. Or hundredfold. Or even millionfold because WHY NOT.

A cause for a celebration.

The first thing to happen is to transform the CMA. In a flurry of purple glitter, red and white shooting stars and pink smoke that smells faintly of raspberries, the CMA as people came to know it since the fifth of May, 2008 is no more. It's not a FIELD anymore. If anything, the CMA now closely resembles a PARK.

A park that is encircled entirely by a city.

A city that has every kind of building imaginable.

Smaller buildings, larger buildings, saner buildings, whackier buildings. All ripe for exploration, discovery and habitation.

That's not all the Island has done.

Bollards have appeared in random locations all across the terrain. They are simplistic and grey, standing roughly four feet tall and have a glowing purple swirl engraved on the top of them. Touching them will take somebody elsewhere on the Island. Azimuth Plain, Aurora Forest, Pivot Mountain, the Seven Lakes, Lake WTF... literally anywhere within the confines.

Down past the rocky landscape that surrounds Umbra Cave, a thick, unrelenting fog has appeared along the most southern edge. It can be touched, yet it cannot be removed no matter what the means.

Then there is the main thing.

With all of its shiptastic might, the Island has duplicated itself right down to the very last detail. While the original stays precisely where it was, the twin, per se, appears in a new dimension, yet still south of a Sinnoh. Perhaps this will help increase the population of humans back to how it once was. Perhaps. Perhaps. Time will tell, for sure.

With changes finished, that precise moment is sealed with a fireworks display. The sky is littered with every colour of the rainbow, scattered in all directions and forming shapes, figures such as past Islanders gone by, flowers, love hearts, you name it. The dazzling arrangement shows no signs of ceasing, either. It's going to remain for the rest of the night, to be enjoyed and cherished.

Finally, now that everything is settled and how it wants things to be for the time being, the Island speaks, a booming voice echoing over the fireworks;]

HEY GUISE! Enjoy the new changes because I love you all! Explore Monday City and the shiny looking new CMA!

[You heard the Island. Can't let it down now, can you?]

[Morty blinks a little. Granted, he knew there were doubles here. He's met some of his doubles. But this one being noticeably younger is a little surprising.

He waves at him, noticing he looks a little cautious.]

Hey, there!

[ He's about as surprised as you are. You see, he also was expecting to see someone his age when he was told about doubles.

But anyway, waving back! ]

Hey.

[ And he'll even come closer to take a better look at you. All this feels weird, but at the same time kind of exciting. ]

[No kidding.]

I don't think I've seen you around before, have I? Not unless the island's doing things to people's ages again, anyway.

No, I'm kinda new. I've been around here for a couple of months, but I guess we just haven't had the chance to run into each other.

[ ... Well, he should probably shake hands with you, you are sort of a new acquaintance after all. Extending his hand! ]

... And I didn't know the island can change people's ages, too. I thought it only brought them here?

I guess not. I haven't been out and about that much in the last couple of months, really...

[He shrugs a little, and handshakes happen!]

I'm honestly not sure how much this needs to be said, but hi, I'm Morty. As for the age-changing thing, weird things just happen sometimes. The Island has an... interesting sense of humor.

Yeah, I noticed there weren't many people arround when I arrived. Wonder if there'll be more of them now.

[ Handshake! Wow, it feels kind of weird to shake hands with yourself. ]

Same here. And well, I have heard the island does... things, but never thought it goes this far.

...

... By the way, are those all your Pokemon?

[ Is he going to have them all when he grows up too ]

The giant city is new. Though odd things have happened to its geography before...

Hm? Oh, yes. Though I got Numina on the island. She's, uh, the Misdreavus there.

[The one that seems to be arguing with Gengar now. Morty sighs a little, rubbing the back of his neck.] She can be a handful sometimes.

[ ... Oh. ]

I see. Guess you're not the grown up me, then. I've had my Misdreavus ever since I was a kid... and, uh, he's a guy.

[ Misdreavus, hearing his name, floats over to you two and receives a bropet from his Morty. Good Misdreavus, best ghostbro. ]

... Though he can be kinda troublesome sometimes, too. But I still love him.

Hey, if we hadn't wanted to deal with trouble, we wouldn't be raising Ghost-types. But no, I guess we must be a bit farther apart than that, as alternates go. It could be worse; we could be from universes where everything has different names entirely.

[Meanwhile, a few of Morty's ghosts have made their way over to him, clustering around behind him. He reaches down to pet Gengar's head lightly.]

You're right.

[ Grin. But that "different names" thing triggers a memory- ]

Oh, I think I've met someone from a universe with different names already. A girl. She called me... Well, I kinda forgot what was it, but it wasn't my name.

[ Anyway ghoooosts let's pay attention to ghosts! He watches your Gengar with curiosity: he's never really seen one before. Gastlys and Haunters are rather common, but only trainers have Gengars, and he's never met any actual trainers back in Ecruteak. ]

It wasn't Matsuba, by any chance, was it? A long time ago I met someone who recognized me as that. The different-names thing actually seems to be fairly rare except for a handful of people.

[Gengar looks up and gives a little wave before sinking into the ground in his trainer's shadow until all that's left is the glowing red eyes and the wide grin. Very Cheshire Cat. Morty sighs and rolls his eyes.]

Show-off.

Oh, yeah, that was it! I wonder if we met the same person.

[ Speaking of meeting people... ]

By the way, do you know a man called Eusine? Is he a friend of yours?

[ And while you think of your answer, he's going to squat and... poke the shadow? Hey, Gengar, can you feel it? ]

I suppose we could have, but I haven't seen her in a while. Was it a girl named Kasumi?

[Gengar sticks his tongue out at you. Whether that's a yes or no...]

Oh, Eusine? Yes. If you're from before I met him, I suppose I should apologize. He's a little... odd. And he does tend to get obsessive; I've had to apologize to various Suicunes about him.

Ah, no. I think her name was... [ Thinking frown ] Uh, Fumiko, I think. She was kind of really shy...

[ ... Okay, he can't help smiling excitedly at Gengar. And then he'll stand next to you, so that his shadow mixes with yours. Hey Gengar, can you get into his shadow, too? ]

Well, I only got to talk to him once... But he was kinda fun! And kinda cool. I never saw him again since then, though.

[--And now his brain fully processes what you've said. ]

W-Wait, you mean you've met Suicune?!

Oh, nobody warned you about that part. Um, yes. There are legendary Pokemon here; they get pulled in just like everyone else. Some of them can turn into humans, though they tend to still look vaguely like themselves.

Trust me, it surprised the heck out of me when I first met one, too. I've just been here long enough to sort of adjust to it.

W-Well, uh... I think someone's mentioned that to me once, but I guess I kinda forgot, with all the crazy things happening around here.

So, um... What legendaries have you met?

[ Well, I guess that question is more like a masked "Have you met a Ho-Oh around here?". ]
